Connect the HR dots

“The retention and development of our employees is strategic for the growth of our company”. So we decided to look for support.  Not that we didn’t already have something.  We do employee satisfaction surveys with follow-up actions, annual interviews, there is a GEO academy, we offer a competitive remuneration package, etc….”  Talking is Kristel Dewit, HR Responsible GEO

“We were looking for support because we felt that the coherence between those different elements is crucial for us as an employer to engage our employees, not only with their brains but also with their hearts.”

The key in that search for cohesion is Lara, she takes on different roles;

– Challenger and inspirator to the CEO and myself

– Providing pragmatic but well-thought HR frameworks. You feel the years of experience …

– To get the HR frameworks implemented, we work together with the team leads; in these sessions Lara takes a facilitating role, which has a good impact on the involvement and ownership of the team leads

– Coaching role to team leads for our ‘feedforward conversations

In the center are the GEO values that we made explicit together and translated into the feedforward conversations. We have used some training sessions to practice the feedback muscle. Now it is important to also embed continuous feedback in the organisation.

As a growing company, we will also be able to pick up the GEO fit more and more explicitly in our recruitment and selection.

It is really fascinating to see the pieces of the puzzle fall into place !
